Paris is a great getaway to many different French regions. We invite you to venture beyond the City of Light. Whether you choose to take the TGV (fast train) or prefer to be driven from your hotel to your destination, you can easily get out of Paris, spend a wonderful day in the French countryside and be back in the evening. If you wish to see vineyards and taste some wines with a local wine grower, then Burgundy, Loire Valley and Champagne are perfect. If you want to walk in the footsteps of the victorious WW2 Allied Armies or to follow the Route of the Impressionist painters then Normandy will be your destination. Our guides will be selected accordingly.
Rheims is approx at a 2 hour drive from Paris. We can have our Champagne resident expert guide pick you up early in the morning in Paris and you might then start your first tasting around 10 am ! He knows about all producers and cellars. He will avoid the big names in order to offer you a more authentic non marketing experience.
However if you do want to visit the major houses everything is possible ( if booked well in advance).
Because Tours is just at a one hour journey from Paris by TGV, this is the best way to go. Upon arrival an expert private driver/guide will pick you up and give you the opportunity to visit 2 castles Amboise and Chenonceaux and can arrange a nice lunch in between.
There are many more castles to see, cellars, wonderful gardens you could visit , restaurants you could enjoy as well but then you need to overnight in Loire Valley and preferably in a castle !
Wine tastings and wine initiation throughout major French vineyards, affordable gastro restaurants, historical sites and towns and nice countryside roads.
You can reach Dijon around 10 am (by TGV). Your private driver/guide will come to pick you up and then you will drive down the “Route des Grands Crus” through the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. This 60-kilometre itinerary is punctuated by no fewer than 38 picturesque localities. Your guide will select a nice and cosy place for lunch and will organize several wine tastings for you. Your tour will end in Dijon around 6 pm in order for you to take a train back to Paris.
There are 3 different ways to organize a day trip to Normandy :
- With a driver/guide from Paris
- By train (regional train) to the nearest station where your local driver/guide will come to pick you up, or
- With a private driver and a private guide from/to Paris.
During that day you will be able to see Omaha Beach and the US cemetary. Should you want to go up to Utah Beach and maybe visit the Caen Peace Memorial then you should overnight in Normandy.
